IDE Plug–Ins
Create and port applications and components for the Intel AppUp(SM) center in your preferred development environment. Intel AppUp SDK IDE Plug–ins allow developers to access Intel AppUp(SM) developer program resources directly from within Eclipse*, Microsoft Visual Studio*, and Nokia Qt Creator* environments. They provide a toolbar directly in popular IDEs and make it easy to integrate application code with code templates, contextual menus, and other options.
IDE Plug–ins provide a range of expanded features for authoring, modifying, compiling, debugging, optimizing, and deploying applications, and the integrated Intel AppUp Software Development Wizard guides developers through the process of adding the appropriate code required for validation through the program.
Dashboard
The Dashboard allows developers to monitor applications and components from within their IDE environment and enables them to:
- Monitor the status of each application.
- Monitor the number of downloads for published applications.
- Monitor the overall customer rating for each application.
Developer Resources
The Developer Resources option gives developers direct access to the articles, blogs, forums, and large developer knowledge base of the Intel AppUp(SM) developer program community.
Project Development
The project development features make it easier for developers using their IDE to create and port applications for the Intel AppUp developer program. This includes project templates that allow developers to easily:
- Create a new application project in Eclipse* or Visual Studio* using the New Project option.
- Integrate Authorization code into an existing Windows* application using the Intel AppUp Software Development Wizard.
- Automatically add required Intel AppUp SDK libraries to a project.
- Start and stop the Intel AppUp Software Debugger for application debugging and testing using Start and Stop buttons.
The Intel AppUp Software Development Wizard
The Intel AppUp Software Development Wizard guides developers through the process of adding the appropriate code to an existing Windows* application and readies it for testing and submission to the Intel AppUp developer program portal.
Getting Started Documentation
This feature makes the documentation about the SDK more accessible and searchable from within the IDE. There is a large collection of API samples and explanations. These tutorials will help make the SDK clearer and show how to use all the SDK’s error messages.
Advanced User Information
An alternative to using the wizard to insert code that makes use of the Intel AppUp SDK APIs is to use the right mouse button to display a menu of options:
- Add Intel AppUp software packages: Packages and inserts library code.
- Add Authorization Code for Intel AppUp software: Inserts authorization code.
- Add Cleanup Code for Intel AppUp software: Inserts shutdown/cleanup code.
- Get Application GUID for Intel AppUp software: Requests an Application GUID from the Intel AppUp developer program portal and automatically inserts it into the source code.
