1. How to Enter

To enter the contest, an Intel AppUp developer program login is required. To join the program, go to http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/join. The developer program provides access to tools, such as the Intel AppUp encapsulator service , which packages your Web applications for submission to the Intel AppUp center. For more information about Web application features supported by the Intel AppUp encapsulator service refer to the article, "HTML 5 Feature Compatibility of the Intel AppUp encapsulator.” For each Web app submitted to the Intel AppUp encapsulator service, the service generates a MSI file for Windows* and a RPM file for MeeGo*. Either of these files can be submitted to the Intel AppUp developer program for validation. Only one (1) of the Intel AppUp encapsulator-generated files (MSI or RMP) for a given Web app is eligible to enter the contest. Web applications or E-books authored by the Intel AppUp Creator are ineligible for entry to the Intel AppUp developer challenge: Web Apps Edition. The Intel AppUp developer program also provides online resources, such as community forums, blogs, videos and articles, to aid in the development of your Web application.

Starting September 28, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. US Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), enter the Intel AppUp developer challenge: Web Apps Edition on the contest website http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/contest/developerchallenge and submit your Web application to the Intel AppUp developer program for validation at http://appdeveloper.intel.com. Please note this is a two step process. Submitting your application to the program for validation does not automatically enter your application into the contest. Contest entry closes on January 30, 2012, 3:00 p.m. US Pacific Daylight Time (PDT).

Please note the application name entered when the application is uploaded to the Intel AppUp developer program must match exactly the application name entered in the Intel AppUp developer challenge: Web Apps Edition entry form in order for the entry to be valid.

2. Contest Entry Requirements:

Contest entries may be submitted in English, French, Italian, German or Spanish. Until the local language contest Web pages are available (approximately two (2) weeks after September 28, 2011), participants may enter apps in English on the English contest website, http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/contest/developerchallenge. Updates regarding the status of the localized contest Web pages may be accessed on the contest forum at http://appdeveloper.intel.com/en-us/forums/intel-atom-developer-program/intel-atom-developer-challenge-forum.

Contest participants may use the Intel AppUp encapsulator service to create a package that can be submitted to the Intel AppUp center. Web applications or E-books authored by the Intel AppUp Creator are ineligible for entry to the Intel AppUp developer challenge: Web Apps Edition.

Either of these files can be submitted to the Intel AppUp developer program for validation. Only one (1) of the Intel AppUp encapsulator-generated files (MSI or RMP) for a given Web app is eligible to enter the contest.

The entries may not be offensive or otherwise unsuitable for use, as determined at the sole discretion of Intel. Participants must comply with Intel AppUp developer challenge Official Rules, the Intel Terms of Use and the Intel Privacy Policy.
