The January 30, 2012 deadline for the Intel AppUpSM developer challenge is fast approaching. In case you haven’t read the fine print in the Official Rules (and you should!), I want to reiterate them and make sure everyone knows the nuances of that deadline.
Basically, all apps that have been entered must also be validated by January 30, 2012, to be eligible for the chance to win $250 USD in cash. Plus, the best app in each of the five categories will win a super-slim Ultrabook™ device valued at up to $1,500 USD. This means that all apps submitted must be published in the Intel AppUpSM center by January 30, 2012, at 3 pm PDT. The reason we require this is so our judges can download the apps from the store to evaluate them. We want the judges to have the same experience as a consumer.
If you jump on it, there is still time to submit your HTML5, CSS, Javascript*, AJAX, or embedded Flash* Web app for the Intel AppUp center and get through the validation process. Here are a few tips:
Use time-saving tools
The Intel AppUpTMencapsulator service makes it simple to package a Web app into a downloadable app ready to submit for validation. Once the app is published to the Intel AppUp center, enter it in the contest for the chance to win. Check out the encapsulator.
Use the Community Forums
If you have questions about the challenge rules or any issues getting through our validation process, post your questions in the Forum. Our technical team and community managers will be monitoring the forum over the next week so we can help you get your apps through validation by the deadline.
We really want you to be eligible for prizes, so please take advantage of our resources and get your apps through validation! Thank you again for entering the Intel AppUp developer challenge.

Good luck!
