Netbook with Touchscreen - How I set up a Dual boot Win 7 & MeeGo Device

How I set up a Dual boot Win 7 & MeeGo Netbook with Touchscreen
Following Bob Duffy's blog on how he set up up his Netbook to dual boot win 7 & Meego, I was able to setup a touchscreen netbook and also enable a virtual keyboard. It did take a bit of time but the device now works like a charm and I am amazed at how quickly Meego boots up and shuts down. Shutting the machine down took about 2 seconds and the startup could not have been more than 20 seconds. (But individual results will vary)

Meego on a touchscreen netbook - I could swivel and flip the screen over and use the device without accessing the keyboard - fun for web browsing while watching the Superbowl last week.

One change I made was in step 7 of Bob's blog was in the boot default file. I changed the timeout from 5 seconds to 30 seconds as well as made Meego the default startup option. So my boot file looks like this:
Give yourself some time to switch your boot
timeout 30
Set Windows as the Default
label meego
menu label MeeGo (2.6.33.3-11.1-netbook)
kernel vmlinuz-2.6.33.3-11.1-netbook
append ro root=/dev/sda3 quiet vga=current
menu default
label Other
menu label Windows
kernel chain.c32
append boot 1

Now when I start up the machine this is the prompt that comes up.

I can click on an option or it will by default boot to Meego.

So my step by step method for this is as follows:
1. Follow the instructions in Bob Duffy's blog to throught all of the steps to get Meego up and running on the netbook device.

2. Follow the instructions for setting up the virtual keyboard -

3. Restart the system -
This is what the virtual keyboard looks like after you have followed the installation instructions from the Meego website.

Please tell me how you have set up your netbook for meego. During the Mobile World Congress event this week many tech analysts were able to see the Meego Preview for Tablets: http://blog.laptopmag.com/intel-shows-off-meego-tablet-ux-complete-with-panel-based-home-screen and some have written about it - Take a look at Meego for yourself and tell me what you think!

Which netbook is that? I can't seem to find it on the Lenovo site. Any others that have been confirmed to work?

Thanks

Actually think I just found it, I think it is the Lenovo S10-3t.

The multitouch work in Meego right? I see this one is capacitive over the other's resistive touch screens so figure it will work (actually does multi touch also work on the resistive?)

Thanks

Hi Randall Arnold - I looked and it looks like Windows 7 takes up about 12GB of disc space
