I am very happy to announce that the much awaited Intel Atom Developer Program SDK (beta) is now available for download. What does this mean to you? It means you can now submit applications and take full advantage of the revenue generating opportunities. Be one of the first apps on the store with market access to millions of netbook users. Use the beta SDK and make your applications “store ready”.

The SDK gives you the libraries and tools to link your application to the Intel Atom Developer Program runtime client running on a customer's netbook. You must incorporate the “Authorization” API function in your application in order for your application to be validated and for the revenue generating opportunities. The SDK is however not required for Open Source applications.

The Beta version of the SDK is now available for both Microsoft* Windows and Moblin operating systems. The SDK currently supports C/C++ apps and with support other runtime technologies in the future.

I am really looking forward to seeing some exciting apps developed for netbooks.

Don't forget to participate in our appdeveloper challege . The first 100 validated apps gets a netbook each and most innovative application submitted before February 2, 2010, will win all-expenses-paid "rock star treatment" trips to GDC* 2010!.
