The Intel AppUpTM SDK Plug-in 1.5 for Visual Studio* software allows developer to easily:

  • Monitor their applications and components for the Intel AppUpSM developer program from within the Microsoft Visual Studio environment.

  • Access the Intel AppUpSM developer program community from within the Microsoft Visual Studio environment.

  • Use Microsoft Visual Studio to develop applications for the Intel AppUpSM center. Project development features allow you to easily:

    • Create a new application project and application object

    • Integrate application authorization code into existing applications

    • Automatically add appropriate build settings and libraries to projects

    • Create Setup Projects so that Visual Studio can create MSI packages during builds

    • Debug applications using the Intel AppUpTM Software Debugger

What's New

This version of the Plug-in adds the following new feature:

  • Supports Intel AppUpTM Software Development Kit 1.5 for .NET and Intel AppUpTM Software Development Kit 2.0 for C/C++

System Requirements

Intel AppUpTM SDK Plug-in 1.5 for Visual Studio* software is tested on the following operating systems:

  • Microsoft Windows XP* Home 32-bit with SP3 (English Version)

  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional 32-bit with SP3 (English Version)

  • Microsoft Windows 7* Home Basic 32-bit (English Version)

  • Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit (English Version)

  • Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (English Version)

  • Microsoft Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit (English Version)

Supported Development Environment:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition, Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, and Microsoft Visual Studio Team System 2008

  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Professional Edition, Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Premium Edition, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate Edition

  • 4 MBs available hard drive space

  • Intel AppUpTM Software Development Kit 1.5 for .NET or 2.0 for C/C++ already installed

Supported Runtime Environment:

  • This Intel AppUpTM SDK for .NET technology supports products compiled targeting the .NET Framework 3.5 runtime. Developers creating applications that incorporate this SDK must compile and validate those applications with the .NET Framework 3.5 runtime. When working with Visual Studio* 2010, you must download and install the .NET Framework 3.5 separately from installing Visual Studio.

Installation Notes

To Install:

  1. Before installation, log in to Windows OS using an account with administrator privileges.

  2. Run AppUpSDK_VSPLUGIN_v1.5.msi.

  3. Follow on-screen instructions for installing the Intel AppUpTM SDK Plug-in 1.5 for Visual Studio* software.

Enabling the Plug-in

Enable the plug-in by positioning the cursor in the upper menu area on the Visual Studio screen and right clicking the mouse button. Then select the Intel AppUpTM SDK Plug-in from the menu as shown in the figure below. The plug-in is now enabled.

You can also click Tools>Customize, then select Intel AppUpTM SDK Plug-in from the list in the Toolbars tab. A Getting Started help file is available via the Tools Menu or Tool bar.

 

Known Limitations

  • This plug-in does not support Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Express Edition and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Express Edition.

  • The plug-in Dashboard screen shows a summary of My Dashboard on the Intel AppUpTM developer program portal. The portal view shows greater detail, such as multiple organizations, etc.
